The success of the Rhondda Netball initiative since 2016 – and the way our charity has inspired thousands of girls and women to step into sport – was always going to pave the way for high-performance netball in the Rhondda and beyond.

The RCT Rockets seized that opportunity. Our very first senior squad took to the court in the 2017/18 season, entering straight into Division 1 of the A470 Netball League. What followed was nothing short of remarkable.

After a strong opening year, major improvements to our infrastructure during 2018/19 saw the Rockets grow rapidly, expanding to eight teams from Under 9s through to Seniors – and our senior squad went on to win the A470 League title.

In 2019/20, Dave & Darren at Riskmonitor got behind our ambitious three-year vision, helping us elevate the programme and compete with the very best netball clubs in Wales.

Fast-forward to today… and that vision has become reality.

In 2025, our Senior RCT Rockets team made history by becoming National Champions of Wales. A landmark moment for our club, our players, and our community – and one that represents nearly a decade of hard work, belief, and relentless commitment from players, coaches, and families across the Rhondda.

From a Senior squad in 2017 to a National Championship in 2025… the Rockets story continues to lift, inspire, and prove exactly what’s possible when talent and opportunity collide.
